Vertical Load 2.3 kg 4.5 kg

Differences

There are several differences between the two sliders, regarding both their accessory compatibility and their weight capacity.

Weight Capacity

The main difference between the two slider models is their respective weight capacity, both horizontal and vertical;

  1. Edelkrone SliderONE v2 supports 9 kg in horizontal mode and 2.3 kg in vertical mode
  2. Edelkrone SliderONE Pro V2 supports 13.6 kg in horizontal mode and 4.5 kg in vertical mode

Batteries

Both sliders run on the Canon LP-E6 battery. The SliderONE v2 uses one battery, and the SliderONE Pro V2 needs a minimum of one battery but can also use two batteries simultaneously.

Accessories

One major difference if you want to upgrade your Edelkrone ecosystem in the future is the fact that the SliderONE Pro V2 is compatible with the HeadPLUS v2 Pro while the basic model SliderONE v2 is not compatible. This means that you may not use the more advanced motion control head from Edelkrone if you buy the regular version.

However, most people will not be needing the more advanced head, and the basic SliderONE v2 is still compatible with the HeadONE head instead, which suits most needs.

Slider Models

This article compares the following slider models:

1. Edelkrone SliderONE v2

The basic model of the SliderONE sliders, the SliderONE v2, allow for a 9 kg horizontal payload and a 2.3 kg vertical. It has one motor that is driven by one Canon LP-E6 battery, and is compatible with the Edelkrone HeadONE (but not the more advanced HeadPLUS head).

This model is excellent for most cameras while sliding horizontally and smaller cameras — like Micro Four Thirds cameras — in vertical mode. If you need bigger cameras to be able to slide in vertical mode the SliderONE Pro V2 is a better choice.
